Back when you were playing beer pong on your dining room table in college, it was serious business. And this weekend in Las Vegas, beer pong is serious to the tune of $50,000 in payouts. The World Series of Beer Pong IX takes place at the Flamingo where hundreds of teams from around the world compete tournament style, with the finals on Saturday.
It’s too late to register for the tournament, but you can watch as a fan with a spectator’s party pass, or check out some of the side events, such as the co-ed set with 32 teams competing, and if beer pong was never your thing, there’s also a flip cup tourney on Saturday at 10 a.m.
In college, it seemed like you played drinking games to lose, if only to get drunk faster. At the World Series of Beer Pong, however, the competitors are definitely there to win.
If you can’t make it this weekend for all the beer pong festivities, check out these three spots where drinking remains a competitive sport.
